I have found myself lately being “overly” careful about what I say to my clients. Recently I answered the phone with one of my clients and told them that I had about 3 minutes to talk with them about whatever it was that they had called me about and they got upset with me. They said that they thought it was disrespectful that I would answer the phone and then tell them that I could only talk for 3 minutes. I suppose I could have not answered their phone call and let it go to voice mail. But in my world I thought I was being respectful to them up front that I was announcing that I had only 3 minutes and that I could call them back at the end of my previously scheduled call.
So with getting my barked off by my client, I’m being extra careful to inform my clients (when I remember to) about the time I have available to call them/talk to them etc.
