There are baby accessories we bought for our first child that we will not buy for our second child. For instance, we will be purchasing any type of snuggle nest. We will purchase positioning pillows which we found helpful that came from our snuggle nest but not the whole contraption. We do have to buy these positioning pillows however as we sold our snuggle nest thinking we were not going to have another child.
Another thing we are not going to do is redo the nursery. There is no need for this activity. It was great fun the first time around, but mostly it was an exercise for us – you know the one – the “nesting project”. We had a good time putting nursery #1 together, but truth be told, before our daughter could really appreciate it, we changed out the crib and changing table for a regular 6 drawer dresser that we can use as a changing table and bunk beds.
We also will not be purchasing another crib. Instead we’re going to use a pack and play with a bassinet. This allows us to kill two birds with one stone. We can keep the bassinet in our room at night and we can take it with us when we travel. And when we are ready to move into a toddler bed scenario, we already have that set up with our first child.
